If you find your mailbox to be a little outdated, maybe it’s time to add Outbox to the mix. Outbox is a service that digitizes snail mail, and can forward important physical products delivered by mail. The company recently took on additional investments to expand from San Francisco into New York, Chicago, Boston, Washington D.C., and Los Angeles. While the operation is currently small, it certainly has some implications for advertisers as it offers a filtering solution for mail recipients tired of junk mail. Should it take off, Outbox could reduce the effect of direct mail advertising significantly, while offering a secondary avenue of advertising through the service itself.
