A recent report from mobile analytics provider, Arieso shows smartphone users consuming more data than tablet users for the first time. Despite increased tablet growth, it appears that usage on devices like the iPhone 5 and Galaxy SIII is skyrocketing. Another interesting fact is that 40% of all data is consumed by 1% of users thanks in large part to LTE.

Gartner Reports PC Shipments Down 5% In Q4
If you’re wondering why there is a lack of PC news at the Lab, it’s for good reason. Gartner has just released numbers indicating a 4.9% drop in PC shipments from 2011. This appears to be due in large part to the growth of mobile as attention shifts towards mobile. While tablet owners aren’t ditching the PC just yet, they are not upgrading models at nearly the same rate.
IAB: 63% Of Mobile Video Views Are In Home
If you assume mobile usage happens on the go, think again. According to IAB research, 63% of mobile video views occur at home with the highest usage during primetime cable. These insights are indicative of second screen behavior as consumer attention often spans across multiple devices simultaneously.
