Apple’s Siri Feature Doubles IPhone Data Usage?

Take this one with a grain of salt, but a recent Bloomberg report suggests that the Siri feature of Apple’s new iPhone 4S is responsible for doubling iPhone data usage across mobile networks around the world.

While we don’t know very many people who have used Siri much after Day 1 (other than having their friends ask ridiculous questions,  shout expletives or trying to degrade her), we think it’s the phone’s growing popularity and educated user base that is using their iPhone as less of a phone and more as an ultra-portable computer.

Of course, the data increase could be based on other factors, such as the article suggests:

The iPhone 4S’ regular connections with Apple’s servers to synchronize applications including music lists may also contribute to the data load, Flanagan said.
